Experts cite the healing power of laughter and the Capital Region's comedians are setting out to prove it for the sake of fellow comic and national headliner Mike Irwin. Mike has been diagnosed with Stage IV Bone Cancer affecting his lower jaw, neck, and lymph nodes. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Saint Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY.

Immediately upon hearing Mike's diagnosis, the North Country's top comedians planned benefit shows to raise money for the medical and living expenses being encountered by Mike's wife, Esther, and their four children. Mike has had a major impact on Capital District comedy not only as a performer, but as a teacher, agent, and adviser. Now the comedians he has helped are helping him.
